As a result of this promotion, my traffic has dropped to about 20% of what it had been a week ago. I’m told this is because the giving away of 50 free credits to blog resulted in a lot of blogs appearing in the rotation that had not appeared in a long time, and I see that when I surf. For me, at least, the loss of traffic was not worth the free credits. Most of my readers come to my blog via blodmad, which means they’re not currently seeing it.

Hi Carl, I’m sorry to hear that. A lot of the reason we gave it out was to appease the people who said credits where being used too quickly. It will return to a normal (more middle-path) state soon though.

Apparently, there are a lot of blogs registered whose owners don’t ever surf. You gave out 50 credits a couple of days ago, and I have only used about 15 of them so far…. Before, the rotation could easily eat 200 a day if I let it.

While I think everyone appreciates the free credits, a lot of us have lost viewers due to the blogs in current rotation. I’ve come across blogs which haven’t been updated since July, or earlier.. is this fair to a person who updates more often? Going from 50+ views a day from BM to 14 total in the last 5 days is a little unnerving.

By the start of next week the owners who don’t even surf will have run out of credits, which will increase the speed credits are used. We are also introducing a far more powerful “credit control” system which will allow greater control of the speed at which credits are used
